Make your own table name signs

You’re in the right place if you’ve always imagined a handmade wedding, with imperfections that look way better than any immaculate decor theme.
Welcome to this rustic tutorial. All the steps below show you how to make table name and number signs using wax crayons and watercolours. Creating a batik-style look for your wedding table names. They’ll look beautiful on your tables amongst special homemade memories scattered around the place.
You will need
Thick white card cut out in the shape you want for your table signs. ✂️ I went for a folded arch shape that could stand up on its own when opened
White oil pastel or white crayon 🖍
Medium paintbrush 🖌
Watercolour paints and a pot of water 🚰 to rinse your paintbrush
STEP 1. With your white crayon, write your table names or numbers onto each piece of card. You'll be able to see the writing faintly against the white card so if you need to, go over the lettering if you'd like it to be more bold.
STEP 2. Choose the paint colour you're going for. Dip your paintbrush into the water and then load your paintbrush with lots of runny watercolour.
STEP 3. Gently brush from side to side all the way down your table sign and across the crayon lettering. You can create an ombré effect by starting at the top with more of the paint and then watering it down as you travel down the sign. Or go mottled and marbled by adding clouds of water into the paint on the card.
STEP 4. Let the paint dry and then prop your signs up on your tables. Admire your beautiful work.
TOP TIP! I found that the thicker the card, the more stable the table signs would be, especially after the water colour paint’s been added.
